Maarten Wilmink was born in 2001. He received his first organ lessons from Louis ten Vregelaar. In 2019, he started his studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Ben van Oosten and is currently continuing his studies with Zuzana Ferjenčíková. At this conservatoire, he also studies improvisation with Hayo Boerema as well as church music. He completed his minors in piano, harpsichord and choral conducting.

His performances have taken him to several countries, including Germany, France, Italy and Lithuania. Besides his solo concerts, he performs as organ soloist with orchestra, plays frequently with ensembles and accompanies choirs. He also plays regularly during church activities. Several times he played during masses broadcast live on Dutch national television. Since 2022, he has been appointed conductor-organist at St Stephanuskerk in Borne. In 2023 he has been appointed as organ scholar in Ratingen (Germany) for two years. Furthermore, he is active as an organ teacher and has published recordings on YouTube and SoundCloud.

He took master classes with several internationally renowned organists, including Olivier Latry, Louis Robilliard, Lorenzo Ghielmi and Jean-Baptiste Robin. In 2018 he was admitted to the Young Talent Class of the International Organfestival Haarlem, where he also played during the final concert.

Maarten Wilmink became prize winner at several competitions. He won first prizes at the SGO Organ Competition 2018 (Groningen), Quintus Organ Competition 2021 (Kampen) and Rino Benedet Organ Competition 2023 (Bibione (Italy)).
